Sono una ragazza polacca di 33 anni che è appena tornata alle corse dopo tre anni di sosta.
Nel 2016 ho partecipato a trofeo internazionale Kia Lotos Race Cup. In quella stagione sono stata l’unica donna a prendere parte alle gare all’Ungaroring, Red Bull Ring, Lausitzring, Monza e in altri circuiti famosi.
In questi tre anni di sosta come pilota, mi sono concentrata sul lavoro dedicandomi alla preparazione di alcuni giovani piloti, compresi alcuni che hanno corso in F.4 negli Emirati, in Spagna, nella Porsche Platinum GT3 Cup Centro Europa e alcuni nella Porsche Supercup e ancora nella Kia Lotos Race Cup.
Professionalmente gestisco un’azienda che opera nel settore dei veicoli su rotaia e gestisco inoltre eventi in pista per aziende automobilistiche come Lexus o Porsche.
Il mio ritorno alle corse nello scorso week end è stato dolce amaro, mi sembrava che non ci fosse nulla di facile in pista, ma nella vita ho imparato che ci vuole sempre molta umiltà.
La mia preparazione per questa stagione sfortunatamente non è stata perfetta al 100 per 100, contrariamente a quanto il mio preparatore mi aveva raccomandato. Non mi sono allenata abbastanza, me ne sono resa conto durante i primi giri di pista.
Durante il week end le condizioni ambientali sono state molto difficili e mutevoli, qualcosa di inusuale per il mese di maggio, anche se siamo nel nord della Polonia! Le temperature fluttuavano fra i 5 e gli 8 gradi, ha piovuto, tanto che la squadra ha pure pensato di montare un set di gomme invernali! (sto scherzando!)
Ho sempre cercato di partecipare in piccoli eventi per amatori, ma anche quando ha cominciato a nevicare, sono rimasta in pista lo stesso, queste condizioni non mi hanno creato grossi problemi.
Infatti il meteo è uguale per tutti i piloti, ma sono incappata lo stesso in una serie di piccoli disastri tecnici… Ho sbagliato qualcosa nella selezione della frenata posteriore e le pastiglie dei freni, tanto che a un certo punto nel bel mezzo di un acquazzone mostruoso, i tergicristalli hanno smesso di funzionare. L’auto ha perso potenza a causa di un guasto a uno dei sensori. I cuscinetti dell’asse posteriore si sono staccati e così via e così via ….Insomma, da ricordare!
Eppure, alla fine io e il team siamo stati piacevolmente colpiti dal fatto che sono salita sul podio per la prima volta in vita mia!
I am Polish racing driver, age 33, and have just returned to racing after a three-year break.
In 2016 I participated in the international competition Kia Lotos Race Cup. During this season I was the only woman taking a part in a hard competition at Hungaroring, Red Bull Ring, Lausitzring, Monza and great circuits others.
During the three years of my break as a race driver I focused my attention on work for young drivers, including among others the F4 in UAE, Spain, Porsche Platinum GT3 Cup Challenge Central Europe, Porsche Supercup and also Kia Lotos Race Cup.
Professionally I run a company acting in a rail vehicles industry, and additionally I run racing track events for automotive companies such as Lexus or Porsche.
Return to racing last weekend turned out to be sweet – bitter, it seemed to me that there is nothing simpler, but life will always teach humility.
My preparation before the season unfortunately was not 100%, contrary to what my coach recommended, I did not devote enough time to training, what I could feel during the first trips to the track.
During the weekend the weather conditions were very difficult and changeable, quite unusual for the month of May, even in such a northern country as Poland. The temperature fluctuated between 5-8 degrees, it was raining, and the team was considering setting winter tires (joke).
I always try to participate in even the smallest amateur events, and when it’s snowing I’m on the track right away, so these conditions did not cause me a big problem.
The weather is the same for all competitors, but I was also hit by a series of technical disasters. There was a mistake in the selection of the rear break discs and brake pads. At the most important moment of a monstrous downpour the wipers stopped working. The car lost its power due to failure of one of the sensors. Rear axle bearings fell apart and so on and so forth ….
After these struggles the team and I are especially pleased with the very first podium in my life!
