AL MUSEO ENZO FERRARI DI MODENA APRE “FERRARI FOREVER”.
UNA MOSTRA DEDICATA AL MONDO DELLE CLASSICHE, IN OCCASIONE DEI 75 ANNI DELLA CASA DI MARANELLO.
Era il 12 marzo del 1947 quando Enzo Ferrari mise in moto la 125 S, la prima vettura a portare il suo nome. La Ferrari che varcò i cancelli di Maranello nel 1947 era molto più di una nuova vettura. Era una dichiarazione di intenti, l’inizio di una cultura di eccellenza, che dura da 75 anni fatta di artigianalità, dedizione, tradizione e innovazione e che dal 1947 non si è mai fermata creando, uno dopo l’altro, capolavori destinati ad attraversare il tempo.
E proprio 75 anni esatti da quello storico giorno, Ferrari celebra questo importante anniversario al Museo Enzo Ferrari di Modena aprendo idealmente le porte di un luogo speciale, solitamente interdetto al pubblico: il Dipartimento Ferrari Classiche.
Istituito nel 2006, questo dipartimento d’eccellenza ha come obiettivo offrire ai proprietari un servizio esclusivo, volto a tutelare l’inestimabile patrimonio che le automobili classiche rappresentano.
La mostra “Ferrari “Forever” nasce proprio con l’intento di raccontare le attività svolte da questo Dipartimento. Grazie a un allestimento completamente rinnovato, l’esposizione racconta i servizi offerti come la Certificazione di Autenticità, riservata a tutte le Ferrari stradali con oltre 20 anni di vita, alle sportscar e a tutti i prototipi, un servizio unico e di grande importanza per il proprietario, che solo con Ferrari Classiche può ottenere un documento ufficiale attestante la piena autenticità della propria automobile.
La mostra accompagna il visitatore anche attraverso le affascinanti attività di manutenzione e restauro delle vetture, che Ferrari Classiche cura direttamente in officina ripristinandone l’autenticità, grazie anche all’accesso al reparto fonderia e alle macchine utensili che all’epoca avevano prodotto i pezzi originali e grazie al lavoro giornaliero di tecnici altamente specializzati, detentori della più profonda conoscenza dei segreti dei motori Ferrari e della specificità di ogni modello.
Inoltre, particolare visibilità è stata data anche all’Archivio storico, dove sono gelosamente custodite le schede di montaggio di tutte le automobili prodotte a partire dal 1947 e grazie ai quali Ferrari è in grado di stabilire inequivocabilmente la conformità al progetto originario.
Il racconto del lavoro svolto da Ferrari Classiche è accompagnato da 15 vetture tutte certificate e alcune anche restaurate proprio dal Dipartimento.
La sintesi della storia di Ferrari è racchiusa in questi capolavori che racchiudono un’anima sportiva nelle vesti di affascinanti granturismo. Come la 250 GT Competizione Tour de France del ’56, uno splendido esercizio di Sergio Scaglietti, ogni volta assimilabile a un esemplare unico nel vero senso del termine: nell’atelier della Carrozzeria Scaglietti venivano realizzate le sportive più affascinanti e vittoriose della Marca da veri maestri battilastra che hanno contribuito a rendere famoso il nome Ferrari. Il palmares di questo modello è tra i più prestigiosi della storia automobilistica sportiva, avendo conquistato il maggior numero di vittorie nella Classe GT.
Altro esempio è la 250 GT Cabriolet del ’59, esemplare di rara bellezza, realizzato in piccola serie da Pinin Farina per i sofisticati clienti che amavano frequentare i luoghi più esclusivi della Cote d’Azur e della California, che prediligevano una Ferrari granturismo aperta, elegante, dalle linee equilibrate, accompagnate da un elevato comfort di guida. Protagonista nei concorsi di elegenza più esclusivi, ma anche sul grande schermo di numerosi film holliwoodiani di successo e nella vita quotidiana degli stessi attori protagonisti, oltre a svariati personaggi del Jet-set internazionale come Barbara Hutton.
Oltre alle vetture classiche esposte, il visitatore avrà anche la possibilità di vedere pezzi unici come ad esempio il “mascherone” della Ferrari 500 Mondial del ’53, manufatto realizzato in perfetta analogia con il periodo da Afro Gibellini per la parte in acciaio e da Max in legno, per la Collezione ModenArt, testimone di gesti di artigianalità usate tra gli anni ’40 e gli anni ’60. In quel periodo, infatti, per realizzare le automobili, seguendo il disegno creato dallo stilista che teneva conto anche dei parametri aerodinamici e della disposizione della meccanica, i carrozzieri predisponevano un calibro di riferimento con le sezioni di carrozzeria che determinavano la forma finale del veicolo. Le lamiere utilizzate, nel caso di Ferrari prevalentemente di alluminio, venivano modellate a mano dagli artigiani con particolari utensili, sino ad assumere la forma voluta, e poi “cucite” insieme per il risultato finale.
In occasione del 75° anniversario “Ferrari Forever” rivela una tradizione di eccellenza che trascende il tempo, che continuerà a rinnovarsi e a evolvere verso il futuro rivelando che ogni Ferrari ha in sé il potenziale per diventare domani una nuova classica.
La mostra sarà visitabile al Museo Enzo Ferrari di Modena a partire dal 12 marzo 2022 fino al 17 febbraio 2023.
“FERRARI FOREVER” OPENS AT THE ENZO FERRARI MUSEUM IN MODENA.
AN EXHIBITION DEDICATED TO THE WORLD OF CLASSICHE, CELEBRATING 75 YEARS OF THE MARANELLO-BASED COMPANY.
On 12 March 1947, Enzo Ferrari started up the Ferrari 125 S, the first car to bear his name. The Ferrari that crossed the Maranello gates in 1947 was more than a new car, it was a declaration of intent, and the beginning of a 75-year culture of excellence built on craftsmanship, dedication, tradition and innovation. It is a culture that has created a stream of automotive masterpieces, each destined to transcend time.
Exactly 75 years to the day, Ferrari is celebrating its anniversary at the Enzo Ferrari Museum in Modena by opening the doors to Ferrari Classiche – a unique department that the public usually never sees. Set up in 2006, it offers owners an exclusive service designed to protect the priceless heritage that classic Ferraris represent.
“Ferrari Forever” presents the work this department carries out and the services it offers – like the Certification of Authenticity, reserved for all Ferrari road cars, sports cars and prototypes over 20 years old. This allows owners to obtain an official document certifying the full authenticity of their cars.
The exhibition takes visitors through the fascinating maintenance and restoration carried out in Ferrari Classiche’s workshop – processes that bring cars of all ages back to their original splendour. This work relies on access to the foundry and machine tools that produced the original parts. None of this would be possible without the expertise of highly specialised technicians, who have in-depth knowledge of the secrets of Ferrari engines and the unique features of each model.
There is a particular focus on the Historical Archive, a perfectly preserved collection of the assembly sheets of every Ferrari produced since 1947. Access to the Archive ensures that all Ferrari Classiche’s work conforms exactly to the original designs.
The story of Ferrari Classiche’s work is complemented by 15 officially certified cars on display, including some restored by the Department itself.
The essence of Ferrari’s history can be found in these vehicles, which embody the marque’s sporting soul. There are unique Gran Turismo models like the 1956 250 GT Competizione Tour de France, by designer and coachbuilder Sergio Scaglietti. The bodywork of some of Ferrari’s most alluring and victorious sports cars was shaped by master craftsmen at the Carrozzeria Scaglietti atelier. The 250 GT’s trophy cabinet is one of the most extensive in sports car history, having won a record number of victories in its GT Class.
Another example of rare beauty in the exhibition is the 1959 250 GT Cabriolet, built in limited numbers by Pinin Farina. Aimed at sophisticated clients who loved to frequent glamorous destinations on the Côte d’Azur and California, this elegant, open-topped Ferrari Gran Turismo offered balanced lines and a comfortable drive. It was seen at the world’s most exclusive events and played a starring role on the big screen in Hollywood films, and in the daily lives of leading actors and international jet-setters like Barbara Hutton.
In addition to the classic cars on display, visitors will also have the opportunity to admire unique artefacts such as an original “mascherone” from the 1953 Ferrari 500 Mondial. At the time, to make cars in line with the designer’s vision, coachbuilders would create a reference template to determine the vehicle’s final silhouette. The metal sheets used – mainly aluminium at Ferrari – were shaped by hand, and “sewn” together. This beautiful piece of automotive art is testament to the extraordinary level of craftsmanship that flourished at Ferrari between the 1940s and the 1960s.
To mark its 75th anniversary, “Ferrari Forever” tells the story of a tradition of excellence that transcends time – one that will continue to innovate and evolve into the future. It will also serve as a reminder that every Ferrari has the innate potential to become a future classic.
The exhibition will be open to the public at the Enzo Ferrari Museum in Modena from 12 March 2022 until 17 February 2023.
